Fall has finally arrived in the South Bay, and we are big fans! Cooler mornings and nights, cozy fires, gorgeous sunsets, and busting out our favorite sweaters and boots at last are mood-lifters for sure. Here are a couple of awesome hometown traditions we look forward to every year!
Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk
We are proud sponsors of this annual event, coproduced by the Skechers Foundation and the Friendship Foundation, which will take place on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Every year since 2009, thousands of local residents rally to walk from the Manhattan Beach pier to the Hermosa Beach pier and back, to raise funds and awareness for kids with disabilities and their families. A few of the programs supported include one-on-one mentoring, family support, summer camps and special classes. The Walk also supports the Skechers Foundation’s annual national scholarships program, offering scholarships to deserving kids across the country. Grab a coffee, gather your crew and meet us at the Manhattan Beach pier at 8:00am when check-in and festivities start.
Downtown Halloween Festival and World-Famous Pumpkin Race
For the 32nd year, the City of Manhattan Beach will hold its annual Downtown Halloween Festival and World-Famous Pumpkin Race at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Sunday, October 30, beginning at 12:00pm. Now that you’ve walked 3.5 miles to start the day, get in costume and bring the kids for a fun-filled afternoon. What is the World-Famous Pumpkin Race, you ask? It’s an event that’s become synonymous with Halloween at the Manhattan Beach Pier and includes decking out your pumpkin, adding wheels, and racing against other pumpkins down Manhattan Beach Blvd. The city provides stations for buying pumpkins and getting them race-ready, or you can bring your own outfitted with a Pumpkin Race Kit available at City Hall. The Championship Race starts at 5:00pm, so you can finish the day with a much-deserved dinner at one of your favorite MB haunts! 👻
